IT Technical Consultant

Introduction:

The profile below is not a full spec, just a guide but lists some of the
core skills our Consultants need, MS Server, MS Exchange, VMware, NetApp
are important skills and most solutions we provide use these product so
candidates will need to be very experience in these areas. Accreditations
in all or some of these areas are also important.

Job Role:

Design, build and install solutions for our customers.
High-level support is also part of the role. The person will assume a
very senior role within the technical team.

Essential Core Product/Systems Experience (install, configure, support, solution design)

  • MS Windows Server, including clustering
  • MS Server products, i.e. Exchange, SQL
  • Citrix
  • Cisco (LAN, WAN)
  • HP (Servers, Networking)
  • Firewall / security products (mid/high range)
  • Storage Area Networking (HP products in particular, NetApp / VMware
    product knowledge desirable)

    General Skills/Attributes:

  • Ability to deliver technical designs based on the above
    products, supplying documentation to support the design / solution
  • Hands-on ability to install a solution and complete the
    project
  • Develop written proposals and explain concepts and
    technical solutions to customers (not always IT experts)

    Personal Profile:

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
    (medium to large companies)
  • Good interpersonal skills - some pre-sales work is an
    integral part of the job
  • Strong hand-on experience in most/all of the products above, with 3+ years solution design experience (this must be evidenced in your CV)
  • Relevant vendor qualifications preferred.

    Travel expenses are added if travel to client site is needed, most clients are within London.
